On this weeknight trip, my lady friends Angel, Jamie, Krista, and I head off the beaten path to explore one of the most beautifully decorated caves in Tennessee. This hidden gem is unlike anything you’ve seen before, and the journey to get inside is just as exciting as you have to swim a long stretch of cold underground water before you can even reach the formations!
Once inside, the cave opens up into a wonderland of natural beauty. We were surrounded by massive draperies flowing from the ceiling, giant bacon formations, towering columns, delicate broomsticks, and literally thousands of soda straws. Everywhere we turned, the cave revealed something more stunning than the last.
This cave is a caver’s dream and truly showcases the incredible underground landscapes Tennessee has to offer. Whether you love caving, spelunking, or just exploring unique hidden places, this adventure has it all, challenge, beauty, and unforgettable moments with great friends.
