We Caved Right Through this Mountain
Come along with Jason, me, and our good friends Kevin, Jamy, and Brody as we literally cave right through this mountain! From the moment we arrive at the entrance, we're greeted by a flowing waterfall—a pretty good indication that this is going to be a wet and sporty adventure! 💦 Once inside, we quickly reach our first pit, followed by a short nuisance drop before arriving at the second pit, where things really get wet. A waterfall is pouring directly down the pitch, poundin

We Explored a Vandalized Historic Saltpeter Cave with Hidden Beauty
Join me, Jason, our new friend Lindsay, and our good friends Kevin, Jamy, and Brody as we head to northeast Alabama to explore a cave near Arab with a fascinating and long history of human use and abuse. Our first stop is a cave once mined for saltpeter during the late 1800s. Listed at just over a mile long, we knew very little about it before arriving. Armed with nothing more than a map, we hiked across an open field in search of the entrance. After enjoying the refreshing b

TAG CAVER Goes White Water Rafting on the Ocoee River!
Facing your fears head-on usually comes with a splash, or in our case, getting completely rejected by the river! This was my very first time white water rafting down the legendary Middle Ocoee River in Tennessee, and it was an absolute wild ride from start to finish. I have experience on other rivers like the Nantahala and the Hiwassee but I have always had a fear of the Ocoee as it honestly terrifies me. But on this day, I decided to conquer those fears. We hit the river in

Continuing Survey in Our Project Cave In Alabama
We’re BACK for Trip #5 on our ongoing Alabama cave survey project! On this trip, Jason and I were joined by Greg and Val McNamara from Indiana to continue pushing and mapping the passage beyond the squeeze. Greg was a part of the original exploration of this cave 20+ years ago so he was very excite to get back into this one! With the hard work of opening the route behind us, we made our way into the next section to extend the survey. After a few shots in the main passage, we

NO Going Back: There Was Only ONE Way Out of This Cave
There is only one way out... and it’s straight down. Come along with us on an adrenaline-fueled caving adventure deep into the heart of TAG (Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia)! In this episode, we are tackling a punishing and highly challenging through trip, one that we have never attempted before. A through trip means there is no turning back. Once we pull our ropes, our only option is to navigate entirely through the mountain to exit out of a completely different opening on the o

65 Years Later: We Mapped a 100-Foot Pit Discovered by Tom Barr
Join Jason and me as we travel into the far reaches of Marion County, Tennessee, to survey one of the last remaining 100-foot pits in the area that had never been mapped. To gather our data underground, we used the Bric5 Survey Tool to instantly and accurately capture distance, compass readings, and inclination, while Jason utilized TopoDroid for the actual survey mapping. To measure the pit depth we use a Keson 200' Fiberglass Tape. This cave was originally discovered in 196

20-Year Breakthrough: Mapping Past the Tight Squeeze
We’re BACK in Alabama to continue our ongoing cave survey project, and this trip is all about making one final push through the squeeze that has been slowing our progress. This time it's just the three of us, myself, Jason, and Robby, as we head underground determined to reach the other side and continue mapping this incredible cave. Before we could survey, we still had one major obstacle standing in our way. After spending several hours carefully modifying the tight passage,

How a Subscriber Tip Led to a MAJOR Alabama Cave Discovery!
After discovering THREE caves on a subscriber's property near Arab, Alabama, there was one cave we simply couldn't stop thinking about. In our previous video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B70PiU_3jTU), we found a large walk-in cave that just kept going. What started as a quick look turned into an exciting discovery as passage after passage opened up before us. Unfortunately, we weren't prepared for a full exploration and had to turn around, leaving hundreds, possibly thous

A Landowner Told Us To Dig Here... Look What We Found!
Can a 5-inch crack lead to a massive underground discovery? 🏔️✨ When a local landowner reached out to us about a "blowing lead" on their property, we knew we had to check it out. Finding a tiny opening blasting out a strong wall of cold air can only mean one thing: there is a cave system waiting to be found. In this video, join Jason, myself, and our good friend Angel as we head out on a Thursday afternoon to tackle the project. The entrance was a mere 5 inches wide and impo

Inside Alabama's Most EXTREME Cave Dig Project
We are BACK at the most extreme cave dig project in Alabama, and this time, we brought reinforcements! Joining us for this massive push is a crew of Hoosiers, our good friends Robby and Leanne, and a newer caver, Brandon, who was eager to get some hands-on experience under his belt. To tackle this project efficiently, we split into two dedicated teams: The Dig Team: Myself, Robby, Danny, Danny's son Jonathan (JD), Greg, and Val. The Survey Team: Jason, Leanne, and Brandon.
