Hidden Caves in West Tennessee
Join me on a solo cave and adventure trip across Tennessee as I travel to a unique natural destination known as The Bridges. Located in Tennessee, The Bridges is believed to be the only double natural span bridge in the United States, and possibly the world. While I can’t personally verify that claim, I can absolutely attest to how beautiful and rare this natural feature is. For many years, The Bridges operated as a high-end health spa, and access to the double natural bridge

Extinct Jaguar Remains Discovered in a East Tennessee Cave
Jason and I set out to explore an intriguing cave in East Tennessee, one with an entrance pit that drops down over 100 feet below. After rappelling into the entrance, we encountered a mud slop and then down to a major ledge where we encountered our first amazing discovery: skeletal remains, including a skull which are believed to be from a black bear. Nearby claw marks in the mud wall are silent evidence of a desperate struggle as the animal fought to escape what became a dea

We Found an Ancient Seabed in the Middle of Tennessee
Come along with us as we explore a unique Tennessee cave that holds clues to an ancient seabed hidden deep underground. Inside, we discover clear evidence that this cave was once beneath the ocean as marine fossils and fossilized sea worm tubes are preserved in the rock. This cave also played a role in early American history. During the Civil War era, it was mined for saltpeter, and evidence suggests the saltpeter vats may have been set on fire, possibly when the operation wa

An Alabama Deer Recovery Like No Other in a CAVE!
In this video, my good friend Troy and I answer one of those calls that starts with, “So… we shot a deer and it fell into a hole." We helped local hunters retrieve an 8-point buck that decided to take a 74-foot plunge into a pit after being shot the morning before. The hunter watched it run off, tumble down into a sinkhole, and literally disappear directly into the hole. After trying an extension ladder (and immediately realizing that was a terrible idea), they wisely called

Epic Journey to a Massive Underground Lake in Mexico
Join Jason and me on an unforgettable caving adventure deep in the jungle of Quintana Roo, Mexico. This trip took us 2 kilometers into dense rainforest, where we navigated past stinging hornets, poisonous Chechén trees, and Acacia trees armed with large hollow thorns filled with ants. After reaching the cave entrance, which was hidden inside a jungle sinkhole, we dropped in and followed winding passageways before emerging into another sinkhole. From there, we continued explor

Join Jason and me as we head down to Mexico to explore the incredible beauty it has to offer, from ancient ruins to crystal-clear water, and hidden underground worlds! One of the cenotes we visited on this trip was Taak Bi Hi, an absolutely stunning place perfect for snorkeling and soaking in nature. The water here is unbelievably clear and surprisingly cold, so we came prepared with our wetsuit tops and bottoms. We also brought our own masks, snorkels, and swim fins, which m

Surveying a Remote Jungle Cave in Mexico
Join Jason and me as we venture deep into the jungle of Quintana Roo, Mexico, to help survey an incredible cave filled with lots of calcite rafts and formations. Our journey took us 2 kilometers through dense rainforest, navigating past stinging hornets, poisonous Chechén trees, and Acacia trees covered in large hollow thorns filled with ants. The Cave That Bleeds Red… Secrets of a West Tennessee Cave
Come along with us as we venture far west into Tennessee to explore a very special cave near Hohenwald! This hidden underground gem is filled with incredible formations rich in deep red hues, some that look like melted candles and others that eerily resemble dripping blood. As we make our way through passages still coated in ancient mud left behind from the Ice Age, we’re rewarded with room after room of stunning formations. One of the most exciting parts of this trip is craw

Digging Into Darkness: Surveying a Cave Opened by Determination & Airflow
Come along with us as we begin a new cave survey project here in Alabama! This cave is currently known to be around 2,500 feet long and just over 400 feet deep. While it’s unknown who originally discovered it, an initial map of the entrance pits was completed in 1977 by Bill Torode and Jim Hall. At that time, the cave was only documented as 165 feet in length. In the early 2000s, Danny Dible, a legend in the caving community known for discovering numerous deep, multi-drop cav

Once inside, the cave opens up into a wonderland o
