Hidden 1890s Spring & Fountain Discovered in the Woods of Alabama

Come along with me as I explore a spring that has been used here in Alabama since the late 1890's as a water source. The crystal clear water flows from an underground spring deep within the mountain and has been explored by cavers for 300 feet before the water makes it too low to traverse any further. The spring is housed inside an old hand built spring house, where the water is pushed into a massive cast iron pipe and then underground. The water surfaces a short distance away at an overflow fountain. As the water is pushed out of the fountain, nearly half of it cascades down into a 100 foot pit while the other half creates a pretty waterfall on the hillside. For safety reasons, I opted to not do the pit on this day as I was alone and it was obviously very wet.
