Exploring Tennessee's Hidden Underground World with the Next Generation!

Come along with us as we visit this multi drop cave near our house that has a spectacular waterfall at the entrance. This particular cave has two drops, one just near the entrance that is more of a nuisance drop and then an in cave second drop of about 60 feet. On this day, our friend Bryan and his two kids (Sierra & Landon) join us for the trip. Please note, both of the kids have had previous vertical training and experience on rope prior to this trip.

Once we make it down inside the cave to the bottom of the second drop, we take off our vertical gear and explore all areas of the cave. We climb up a fixed rope and down into some neat canyon passage that leads to a very decorated room with formations. After checking out this area, we proceed back to the area where our rope is an check out some passages going off from there. What a wonderful way to inspire and spend time underground with the next generation of cavers!

This cave is formed in the Bangor Limestone and was once the water source for the nearby town.
