Come along with us on one of our ladies Friday Night Cave Trips after work as we check out a local roadside pit here in Tennessee. This pit is about 84 feet deep on the low side where we chose to rig it from. Unfortunately, there was a lot of trash inside this pit, which most likely washed in from the nearby road.
As Dylan was climbing out, he noticed a large rock near the lip of the pit was loose. We were all then very careful as we climbed out as to not dislodge it. Once everyone was safely out of the pit and we pulled the rope, I was able to very slightly give it a nudge and over the edge it went. Kind of scary to think about how we all just climbed under such a massive rock that was just perched there on the side waiting to fall. I guess you could say I still have a little PTSD from our rock fall back on Memorial Day.
